Im currently studying under an amazing tutor, Louise Courtnell, a former student of Robert Leinkewicz, which is where most of the tonal studies come from. Im still working in black and white emulsion on a black ground and although sometimes frustrating, (as im eager to use colour) its proving very useful in forcing me to really see tones in a new way by detatching myself from the influence of colour.Some times painting can get a bit too intense for me and i like to revert back to the child inside, so i also enjoy illustration. Usually, ill be influenced by either film, a book, an interesting location or whatever is in my head.
